Not a cheat, just not for beginners
After reading the reviews and playing a few games, I initially agreed with the "cheating dice" sentiments. Then I played some more and realized the dice were perfectly fair, but the bots are *really* good. Even at the easiest level this is definitely not a game for beginners, but its head and shoulders above most other iOS backgammon games for learning purposes.
Turning on the hints gives you real-time analysis on your moves and is a huge help in improving your game. If youve ever watch the WSOB and heard Gus Hansen choosing moves that the computer determines are "wrong," its a similar experience here. Try to figure out *why* those moves are suggested instead of just accepting them--its the only way to consistently win games.
If youre still convinced the dice are cheating, try playing some of the harder FIBS bots and youll find yourself in a similar situation. High level playing requires a lot of math to figure out the best checker position, and iGammon is going to drive that point home whether you like it or not.
