Nice interface and playability but the dices always rule in favor of the computer. Wining is close to a miracle.

Great interface but dice are not random and fair! On numerous occasions I have needed a 4 and I get a 2-1 and the computer need double sixes and gets it! I love the app but make the dice more fair

Great interface, BUT the AI opponent gets exactly the rolls it needs to win. Almost impossible to win. Very, very frustrating & not worth the bother. Do not download this app unless you enjoy frustration...

Easily the beat backgammon game in the AppStore. The UI is gorgeous, you can play against either the computer or against a real person, and its usable by players of any skill level. Anyone complaining about "fixed dice" is just butthurt about losing, as they would be in a game with a real board as well.

I agree with the last reviewer. I want to believe that the game is fair but it isnt. The computer ALWAYS gets the exact roll when it needs to escape or put you on the bar. This is even more noticeable right away it offers the doubling cube back to you. Horribly and frustratingly fixed.

Sweet interface. Works well and looks like the real deal. I am a reasonably good player and do beat this game regularly. The bitter part is that it seems everybodys complaint about the unfair dice is true. For the most part, I can predict what its going to roll next. Im not psychic. The developer just doesnt know what random really means. Better luck next time. For laughs, put it on Fast Forward and watch the unbelievable dice roles. BTW, nice interface.

Dice rolls definitely not random. One easy way to beat computer is to advance end prices first. The computer only attacks when their pieces are in line.. But this kills the fun out of the game.. Either too easy or too hard. Extremely frustrating when you lose because computer cheats.

Im blown away by how often the AI gets two or three doubles in a row just when it needs it. I guess the cheating makes up for the AIs weak game play. Too frustrating, deleting.

Pros. As everyone says, igammon has the best interface of them all. Easy to use and easy to understand menu screens and settings. Features such as pip count, hint, and orientation lock are really nice and useful. Thats pretty much where the good stuff ends. I agree the dice rolls are not "random and fair" as Mr igammon says. It has gotten to the point where I can almost without fail predict what the computer is going to roll. That really takes the fun out of it. If not for that this would be the best backgammon game out there. Needless to say... DELETED...until fixed. Or are you to proud to fix it? Just admit defeat. 61 negative feedbacks cant be wrong.

This game is really bad as far as dice go... Interface and everything else is good but the dice is not random, even your dice is not random and its very frustrating to play, you can predict the dice and most of the time not in your favor... You can still win and I beat it often but the dice is just ridiculous and it affects the way you play this game, you cant play like you do with people and also if you play this game often it well affect the way you play against people cuz of the change in style of play while playing this game, but its not that big of a problem for advanced players.

but the so called "random" dice rolls leaves me frustrated ! Hopefully, they will look into this problem . . .

This game is vary fun!! Im not to good at the game but I have won two times out of five. Nice game!!

I have read the reviews and the debate about whether the dice are biased or fair and have come to the conclusion they are biased. After playing this game for over a year at the different skill settings and only winning one session while losing umpteen sessions (I have lost count) the dice have the ability to roll exactly what they need to get the red out of a jamb and ensure a win for them. For instance, once I was up 17 to 3 in a session only to lose the session. The dice were "uncanny" in giving red exactly what it needs and exactly what I dont need. Even when the game is about even and red doubles, if I accept, sure enough, the next roll, red gets exactly what it needs and goes on to win. I have purchased other backgammon games where the dice seem far more random i.e. fairer. Yes the graphics and the features are great but if you buy this app, be prepared to feel cheated. The only satisfaction I have had was deleting it! Dont buy this game if you suffer from hypertension.

After reading the reviews and playing a few games, I initially agreed with the "cheating dice" sentiments. Then I played some more and realized the dice were perfectly fair, but the bots are *really* good. Even at the easiest level this is definitely not a game for beginners, but its head and shoulders above most other iOS backgammon games for learning purposes. Turning on the hints gives you real-time analysis on your moves and is a huge help in improving your game. If youve ever watch the WSOB and heard Gus Hansen choosing moves that the computer determines are "wrong," its a similar experience here. Try to figure out *why* those moves are suggested instead of just accepting them--its the only way to consistently win games. If youre still convinced the dice are cheating, try playing some of the harder FIBS bots and youll find yourself in a similar situation. High level playing requires a lot of math to figure out the best checker position, and iGammon is going to drive that point home whether you like it or not.

So why am I giving 4 stars? Because it depends what level you set it to. It doesnt cheat at "cautious" and "advanced" levels, and actually at advanced level I find it quite entertaining and challenging. But all other levels: youll be playing with a cheeeeeater!! :)

Best backgammon UI ever, simply amazing BUT, Dices are not randomized at all, computer has rights you dont, rules are different just to have you losing most of the time. Statistically a shame.
